This report by Viamo explores two separate randomised controlled trials that demonstrate the efficacy of Wanji, our interactive audio games that deliver educational content to remote audiences using basic telephony.
The first study, conducted by IPA, looked at the use of Wanji Games in preventing digital fraud in Uganda. The study found that the game resulted in a 20% reduction in financial fraud victimization, and that 55% of participants listened to the game more than once, reinforcing learning through repetition.
The second study, by Waterloo Foundation, compared Wanji Games as a delivery tool for family planning messages and compared it to other content types. Results showed that Wanji Games was the most effective content format, with higher engagement rates – and was the only content style that positively affected male attitudes.
