Fall Armyworm para-broadcast campaign

Farmers in Midwestern Uganda have been grappling with an invasive pest, the notorious fall armyworm, attacking their maize crops and putting livelihoods in jeopardy. PVI, in partnership with Centre for Agriculture and Biosciences International (CABI), deployed the Kibanda Boda, our solar-powered microcinema on two wheels, to screen videos on fall armyworm prevention and mitigation methods in remote and hard to access affected areas .  In 10 weeks time, we have reached more than 4,200 farmers in 146 farmer groups. Screenings were supplemented with DVD distribution to over 1,000 public screens in video halls, shops, bars, beauty salons and barber shops.
